Assam State Unit

1. Projects
1. SRS completed and submitted for Brahmaputra Board.
2. Reporting and data merging modules added to the Teacher's Database Project.
3. A Prototype of Web-enabled District Performance Monitoring System developed for Chief Minister's Office.
4. Reporting modules developed for the National Register of Citizenship (NRC) Project.
5. Digitization of Block and GP boundaries completed for Dibrugarh District.
6. System Administration: Chat and Bulletin Board services started on 'assam.nic.in' server.
2. Training
1. Workshop on Land Records Computerization during March 18-20,2002 for NIC personnel from Assam (15 participants)
3. Other Activities
1. Worked out the equipment-details to be purchased with Rs 15 Lakh being contributed by the State Govt. for Secretariat LAN.
2. Organized meeting between Dr Y K Sharma, DDG, NIC and Secretary(IT), Assam through VC on 5-3-2002.
3. A programmer posted in the Office of the Chief Minister.

• District Court : DCIS and Unix ware 1.1 OS has been installed.

• Data entry is going on for the Teachers Database.
• As directed, Unixware has been loaded along unix version of DCIS system at district court machine.
• Compilied the District Level data of "Raijor Podulit Raijor sarkar" (RPRS) Programme entered previously and generated various reports as asked by the District Administration for transmission to Govt of Assam.
• Data Entry on MLALAD Schemes from the year 1996 to 2000 for all the LACs of Jorhat district has been completed and various reports have been generated for the District Administration.
• Other various works as assigned by the District Administration and implementation of various ongoing projects like FCI, Treasury computerization etc.

• Teachers Databse: Data Entry has completed for Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of Karbi Anglong District and cross checking is going on. Data Entry is going on for Middle Schools of Karbi Anglong District for preparing the Teacher Database.
• Selection of CIC operators is being arranged.
• Updation and Monthly report generation of MPLAD and MLALAD.
• Providing Technical support to the District Treasury.
• Payroll system of District Council employees has been running smoothly for the last five years.
• DIO attended a Workshop on Land Record Computerization at NIC Training Centre Beltola , from 18-20 March'2002.

• Land Records Computerisation: Five Circles' Jamabandi Records entered
into Computer. Data entry for the sixth Circle is going on. A Gist terminal and a Printer at Public facilitation (DC's Office) counter is set up in order to provide print out of ROR. Report generation module developed.
• Teachers Database Project: Data-entry for LP/ ME School information for one Educational Block completed.
• CIC: Database of Candidates for the Post of Computer operators for CICs created.
• DICC: Assisted the DICC, Nagaon in rectification of Small scale Industries Registration (SRS) database.
• D.C.'s Office: Salary of March 2002, for the Officers and Staff of Deputy Commissioner's Office establishment generated.
• Panchayat Election: Reservation of seats for women (random) and SC/ST (based on Population) done using computers of NIC, for the post of Vice President of 241 Gaon Panchayats and Vice President of 18 Anchalik Panchayats.
18. N.C. Hills
• Generation of Reports in Microsoft Access for the data entered with respect to High & Higher Secondary Schools of N.C.Hills.
• DIO attended Workshop on Land Record Computerization at NIC, Training Division Beltola.
• Data for the monthly reports on ICDS Project, Family Welfare department (CNAA) were entered and sent to concerned authorities via e-mail.
• The freshly corrected SSI data was transferred to a backup media and was sent to the Director, DICC, Guwahati through e-mail. Technical problems faced by the staff of DICC, Haflong were successfully solved. Also, they were imparted training on computer operations that are required for running the systems on a day-to-day basis.
• The Deputy Commissioner was imparted basic training on computer operations with a special emphasis on how to browse Internet and check e-mails.
• Report on activities of NIC, N.C.Hills was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner for onward transmission to Commissioner & Secretary to Chief Minister, Assam.
• Inputs for the proposed District Administration Monitoring System were submitted to the Deputy Commissioner for onward transmission to the Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister.
• Re-installation of MS Office Professional in the Client m/c of S.P. Office and solving of the Networking problem in the DCRB software. Installation of Optical Character Reader (OCR) and demonstration of its functioning in the S.P. Office.
• Installation of HUB in the Election Office. The existing cross cable networking was replaced by straight cable through HUB.
• The Oracle database files were successfully re-installed from the Systems Backup tape after the system in the Treasury had suddenly crashed. The up-to-date data was successfully retrieved form the cartridges and necessary system tuning was done.
19. Sibsagar

20. Sonitpur
• Data entry of Teachers Database completed for Secondary schools.
• The interview for selecting CIC operator out of a total of 46 candidates for the 2nd phase conducted on 27-3-2002.
• Porting of Land Records data continuing to Unix environment from DOS.
• The dial up connection at BRO, Tezpur has been installed.
• The Windows NT LAN connection set up has been completed.
• Treasury Accounting Application System (TAAS) running smoothly.
• Regular data transmission on CNAA and Wholesale & Retail price of Paddy and other Agril. Commodities carried out.
• Updation of MP-LAD & MLA-LAD data.
21. Tinsukia
• Teachers Database: 60% of Primary Education data have been entered. Preparation of Checklist for Secondary/Higher Secondary School Teachers Database. Final report generation for the same and submitted to I.S. Tinsukia.
• Web site updation: Scheme wise web page for the current M.P's and M.L.A's for the year 2000/2001. Updation of Departmental activities on various department of the District.
• Pay generation for various Branch/Department.
• Conducting of interview for CIC operator for 7 blocks of Tinsukia District.
• Monitoring of MP/MLA schemes.
• Preparation of Bakijai (Loan Recovery) Software in Oracle 7 for data entry from 2nd April'2002 by respective Bank Branches. The decision was taken in a meeting of Bank Managers with the D.C.
• Installation of MODEM in the District Court for Internet browsing.
• Batch wise training on Windows, MS Word, MS Excel to the Staff/Officers of Deputy Commissioner's Office with a aim to make the Staff/Officer Computer literate within two months. Already 2 batches have been trained in this month.
