Assam State Unit

1. Projects
1. The on-line Pension Bill processing module of the Treasury Accounting system has been implemented in another treasury.
2. Presentation made on Computerized Land Records system for NE States through VC on 8-1-2002.
3. Porting started of the Computerized Land Records system from Oracle & UnixWare platform to SQL Server & VB platform.
4. Report on Uncovered Habitations generated from 6th AIES data for use by the Education Department.
5. SRS completed and submitted for Forensic Science Laboratory.
6. SRS completed for NERAMAC.
7. Digitization started for the village maps of Nalbari District.
8. Arranged with support from HQ a demo on the S/W being used for the CM's Office, Delhi for the benefit of Commissioner to the Chief Minister, Assam on 17-01-2002.
9. Web site of Gauhati High Court http://ghconline.nic.in inaugurated by the Hon. Chief Justice of High Court.
10. System Administration:
• Web-enabled mail configured on assam.nic.in.
• Router configured for dial-in lines.
• With support from VC Division, NIC HQ, DAMA configured on SCPC VSAT along with a telephone line.
• Four dial-in lines configured through the router.
• E-mail addresses created for all the 52 state State Govt. departments on assam.nic.in .
2. Training
1. 'Computer Network & Internet - Basic' during Jan 7-9, 2002. (15 participants)
2. 'ORACLE Database Administration' during Jan 28-29, 2002 (16 participants)
3. Other Activities
1. Another 21 computers have been installed in various chambers of Commissioners and Secretaries under the Secretariat LAN project.
2. System Administrator coordinated and participated in the DEMO on Internet through Power Line given by APIN International, Hyderabad in the CM's chamber.

NITPU Guwhati

District Units

1. Barpeta:
   • Participated in the activities of Panchayat Election 2001 till the end of the process (January 2002).
   • The District & Session Judge Court has brought one UPS and it is tested. Computerization of District court projects has been initiated.
   • LAN has been set up at this center only on 22-01-2002. And Internet is now accessible in LAN. The 3-port RAS is yet to be installed.
   • The NUMERIC UPS (2 KVA) has been down since 26-12-2001 due to expiry of battery life. This has affected the works in this center. So the batteries are to be replaced urgently. On 28-12-2001, 1 KVA UPS has been received from TRITRONICS and it is installed only on 18-01-2002.
   • There is only one printer in this unit so two more printers are needed
2. Bongaigaon:
   • Report not received.
3. Cachar:
   • Selection of 13 Candidates were done for CIC.
   • Updated the Cachar Distict Web Site.
   • Undergone training on Oracle Administration at the Beltola Training Centre.
4. Darrang:
   • Tasks in the last stages of Panchayat Election completed.
   • Teachers database software is tested, bugs removed, installed and training of personnel are going on.
   • Land records data entry is in progress, Total no of village completed 251 out of 1317, circle wise 3 circle completed out of 9, Mouza wise 9 Mouza completed out of 29.
   • Guidance provided for site preparation of District Court.
   • Technical support provided for treasury computerization.
5. Dhemaji:
   • Report not received.
6. Dhubri:
   • The DIO was in-charge of Data Processing Cell for Panchayat Election, 2002. During Counting of Vote details of votes polled against each candidate (ZPC Member, AP Member, GP President And GP Member) was entered into computer and then necessary reports were generated for official use and onward transmission to State Election Commission, Dispur. The process of counting of vote was started at 9.00 A.M. on 03/1/2002 and continued up to 12.30 P.M. on 04/1/2002.
   • LAN is successfully installed in NIC Dhubri. Presently two Clients are connected to the NT Server.
   • DIO has supervised the installation of LAN at D.C.'s Office, Dhubri and presently it is working properly.
   • Data entry for all the DDO under Treasury Computerization has been completed and necessary prints out of the same has been given to Treasury Officer, Dhubri.
   • DIO to visit CIC site at CIC, Golokganj on 31/1/2002 to inspect the progress of works.
7. Dibrugarh:
   • Database on tea garden labours welfare scheme was created.
   • Database reinstalled of Treasury Accounting System after some problems.
   • CIC sites were visited some loopholes were found in the construction of civil and electrical works which were asked to be rectified. The two sites will be ready by the end of this week. Interview for the candidates will be held on 15 Th Feb 2002.
   • Training on Ms Office and Windows was imparted to four persons of the district administration.
   • Database development on RPRS (Govt. at Peoples' Doorstep scheme) going on.
   • Computerized the results of the Panchayat election.
8. Goalpara:
   • District web site updated.
   • Sending Daily Situation Report to the Chief Minister.
   • Day to day documentation support provided to branches like DCP, RELIEF, NAZARAT , Election Branch etc.
9. Golaghat:
   • Panchayat Election - 2001: Generation of Statements of remuneration for polling personnel.
   • MP Election - 2002: Preparation of Action Plan for the MP Election.
   • Updation of the District Website: The newly designed website of the District has been launched.
   • Teacher's Database: The work on creation of Teachers database has been started with the High/H.S.Schools.
   • District Treasury: The problem with report generation for pensioners of other states sorted out.
   • District Court: RAM upgradation done in District Court Server. However, LBFN could not be installed due to Floppy drive problem.
   • Action plan for Republic Day Celebration including graphical layout of ground arrangement has been done.
10. Hailakandi:
    • Tasks in the last stages of Panchayat Election completed.
    • Trying to install LBFN in District Court Computer.
    • DIO I/C attended the ORACLE DBA training program in the SU training Centre from 28-01-02 to 30-01-02.
11. Jorhat:
    • Report not received.
12. Kamrup:
    • Data entry of M.E.Schools data of both rural & urban areas for three Education Blocks (Boko, Karara and Kamalpur) of Kamrup District under "Teachers Database" project has been completed. Data-entry for the urban area of Rangia Education Block has been completed and Guwahati Education Block has been going on.
    • The processing for the selection of the candidates of the operators for the Community Information Centres (CIC) under Kamrup District is going on.
    • Regular data entry and report generation of data under MPLAD scheme.
13. Karbi Anglong:
    • Payroll system of District Council employees has been running smoothly for the last five years.
    • Imparted Data Entry Training to the Staff ( 2 nos.) of Inspector of School, Diphu. Data Entry has started for Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of Karbi Anglong District for preparing the Teacher Database.
    • Installation of Computers at 10 different schools (under MPLAD scheme) has been supervised from this office.
    • Prepared the District Council Budget for the financial year, 2002-2003.
    • Updation and Monthly report generation of MPLAD and MLALAD.
    • Preparing the Senior Citizen¡¦s database.
    • Providing Technical support to the District Treasury.
    • Helped the District Administration in preparing various report ( like Vision document) under RPRS (Govt. at Peoples' Doorstep) project.
14. Karimganj:
    • Install DCIS,JUDIS and shifted machine to Dist. court. Training is being started.
    • Result of the Panchayat Election computerized.
    • A s/w is being developed on Meeting Management system; likely to be completed in next month.
    • Technical support provided to Dist. Treasury , DIC and Supdtt. of Police.
    • Updation of Payroll & BAKIJAI System is done recently as per request of DC's office.
    • Imparting training to DC's PA & staff on fundamentals of Computer.
15. Kokrajhar:
    • Report not received.
16. Lakhimpur:
    • Panchayat Election: Post-Election activities completed e.g. Result compilation, report preparation etc.
    • Teachers' database: Training provided to the BEEO officials.
    • Report generation on the achievement of the District Vision report.
    • Participated in the discussion on the 2nd phase on introduction of Computer Education in educational institutions under MLA Fund.
    • S/W development underway on IFC & Grievance Cell and Raijor Padulit Raijor Sarkar (Govt. at Peoples' Doorstep).
    • Preparation of District MAP with rivers etc. going on as a component of the project to control the flood in Lakhimpur distrioct by PWD (R) .
    • CIC: Database created on the applicants for the post of CIC Operators; also visited CIC project sites.
17. Morigaon:
    • Completed successfully the computerized process of the Panchayat Election, held in the month of December 2001.
    • Modified the Morigaon Web site.
    • Inspected the Mayong block (Jagiroad College) for setting up CIC Project.
    • Project like Monthly MPLAD/MLALAD scheme monitoring Bakijai (Lone Recovery) for DC's establishment going on.
18. Nagaon:
    • Bye Election to the 11 Kaliabor Parliamentary Constituency: Took care of the management of Polling parties and Counting Parties, for 512 Nos. of Polling stations under 11 KALIABOR HPC. Four assembly segments viz 83 Dhing, 84 Batadrava, 85 Rupahihat & 88 Samaguri - all under 11 KALIABOR HPC, are being covered for this purpose. Database for employees database prepared. Poll to be taken on 21st February 2002.
    • Land Records Computerisation -Data -entry going on for Jamabandi records. Five circles' villages covered so far.
    • District Court Computerisation -The new computing resources acquired by office of District Judge, Nagaon installed under NIC's supervision.
19. Nalbari:
    • Treasury Accounting System computerization (Running)
    • Payroll System of Dy. Commissioner office running.
    • Food & Civil Supply project for allotment of rice, wheat, sugar & k-oil running.
20. N.C. Hills:
    • Office XP Professional was installed in all the computers of the DU. Also, Windows 2000 Server has been installed in the new P-III server. Local Area Networking among the computers was re-established.
    • Hardware & System Administration Problems: Re-installed Windows 98 Second Edition, MS Office Professional in the SP Office. Modem was re-installed. Networking among all the computers of the SP Office was re-established. Laser Printer, DeskJet Printer & Dot Matrix Printers were re-installed for sharing over local area network.
    • Re-installed Windows 98 Second Edition, MS Office Professional in the computer of Haflong Wholesale Co-operative Society. Leap Office and Ankur Srilipi Softwares were installed in the same computer. Also, re-installed DeskJet Printer.
    • Daily Report on Wholesale & Retail price of rice was sent regularly to the authority concerned through e-mail.
    • Data for the monthly reports on ICDS Project, Family Welfare department (CNAA) were entered and sent to concerned authorities through e-mail.
21. Sibsagar:
    • Work on DCIS software is going on in the Dist. Judge Court Centre smoothly.
    • Updation of the District Web site.
    • The TREASURY of DC's Office is going on effectively under the supervision of NIC Dist. Unit.
    • S/W developed by this Unit using MS-ACCESS for recording various MUGA FIRMS, FARMERS and their activities.
    • S/W is developed and used for Final Compilation Result and Report of Panchayat Election 2002.
    • Projects like Monthly Allotment of PDS items, Bakijai (Loan Recovery) & Payroll for DC's establishment going on.
    • Project for Revenue Settlement and MP/MLA LAD scheme monitoring is going on smoothly.
    • The Data Entry Process of Teachers Database is started.
22. Sonitpur:
    • Imparted Data Entry training to the staff of I.S./DEEO Office for preparation of Teachers Database. Data entry of Teachers Database is going on.
    • Data entry is going on at District Court Centre (DCIS s/w).
    • Inspected the construction/renovation work of the 3 nos. of CIC sites for CIC project. Preparations going on to conduct the recruitment procedure of operators.
    • Treasury Accounting Application System (TAAS) running smoothly.
    • Updation of the District Web site.
    • Payroll System of Deputy Commissioner office running.
    • Updation of MP-LAD & MLA-LAD data.
23. Tinsukia:
    • Updation of Tinsukia website for the "Dehing Patkai Festival, Lekhapani, Tinsukia".
    • Generation of Pay statement, different schedule for District Admn., District & Session Judge office, CJM Office, and F&CS, Tinsukia
    • Updation and monthly report generation of MPLAD, MLALAD, Bakijai and Untied Fund s/w.
    • Monitoring of TASS s/w at Tinsukia Treasury.
