Activity Report: September, 2001

Assam State Unit

1. Projects
1. System Development started for the File Movement module for the Chief Minister's office. Dak Movement System implemented.
2. System Development continuing for the Commercial Taxes Sector.
3. System Development continuing for MIS-DIC.
4. The On-line Pension Bill Sub-system in Treasury Accounting System implemented in Kamrup Treasury on a pilot basis; also Cash Challan Processing Module developed and Module for detecting forged Pension Bills under development.
5. Web site for Gauhati Medical College launched on 20-09-2001.
6. PGRAMS software customized for BSNL.
7. Obtained village maps for Kamrup District and digitization started.
8. System Administration:
• Temporary LAN connection extended to the Chief Minister's Office.
2. Training:
• Office Automation Tools for Govt. organizations during Sep 17-21,2001. (17 participants)
3. Other Activities:
1. Sh Deepak Goswami participated in a training programme on IT & Disaster Management during September 3-7,2001 at IIPA, New Delhi.
2. Sh Diganta Barman participated in the Workshop on Land Records during September 20-21,2001 at NIC HQ.
3. Co-ordinated with the State Govt. to organize a meeting of all Deputy Commissioners on 23-09-2001; Dr Y K Sharma apprised them on the CIC Project. He along with Dr(Mrs) Shefali Dash and Sh A K Singh also addressed a DIOs' meeting and visited CIC, Raha.
4. Ensured participation of a number of senior medical professionals from Guwahati in a meeting through VC on 21-09-2001.
5. Got the defective electrical cable from the transformer to the Office replaced and re-laid.

3. Cachar:
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Developed software for monitoring of MPLAD in VB6 & MS Access.
• Training organized on Fundamentals of Computers for officers of DC's office.
4. Darrang
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Initial data-entry is in progress in the Land Records Computerization Project.
• Necessary steps taken for implementation of the District Court Information System (DCIS).
• Bakijai (Loan Recovery) Monitoring System under development using VB6 & MS Access environment.
• Linux installed and configured.
• Updation of the District Web site.
5. Dhemaji

6. Dhubri
• Besides other regular activities, training imparted on Computer Fundamentals and word-processing to DC's office staffs.
• Necessary steps taken for implementation of the District Court Information System (DCIS).

8. Goalpara
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Compilation underway of prominent Citizens' list for the district.
9. Golaghat
• Inspected the rest six blocks for setting up CICs in the second phase.
• Necessary steps taken for implementation of the District Court Information System (DCIS).
• Training imparted to senior officers and staff on MS-Office and Internet.
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• System development underway for monitoring MPLAD & MLALAD schemes (MS SQL Server & VB6).
10. Hailakandi
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Monthly Allotment Order of PDS items generated for September 2001.
• Treasury Accounting System going on.
• Necessary steps taken for implementation of the District Court Information System (DCIS).
11. Jorhat
• Application Processing System developed (MS SQL Server & VB6) and implemented; applications from common people accepted on eighteen different subjects, a receipt is issued and a date is given for the next visit. On next visit either the necessary document is issued or the status thereof is informed. Daily about 100 persons avail this facility.
12. Kamrup
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Software developed and data-entry started to select beneficiaries under Antyodaya & Annapurna Yojanas.
• Compilation underway of prominent Citizens' list for the district.
• Updation of the District Web site.
• Training imparted on Windows & Ms-Office to the staff of district administration.
13. Karbi Anglong
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Treasury Accounting System implementation started.
• Updation of the District Web site.
• Preparation started for the District Council election.
• Database on Villages built up in MS Access.
• Also Master Plan prepared for the forthcoming election.

• Installation of a computerized Information & Facilitation Counter in the Deputy Commissioner's office on 3-9-2001.
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Necessary steps taken for implementation of the District Court Information System (DCIS).
• Imparted training to FCI personnel on Computer Fundamentals and DIAS software.
• Updation of the District Web site.
• Initiated discussion on Land Records Computerization Project.

• Software developed and implemented for Revenue Settlement and MP/MLA LAD scheme monitoring.
• Training imparted to about 40 officials of DC's office on Windows and MS-Office within a period of five weeks. Very much appreciated by the DC.
20. N.C. Hills
• MIS-DIC Software consisting of SSI Registration and PMRY installed in DIC and training imparted to them.
• Database on Prominent Citizens in the district prepared and sent to NIC HQ.
• LAN established in the District Unit using a hub from district administration.
• Study completed for preparing the Voters List for the forthcoming District Council Election.
• Also data ported from Oracle 8I database to MS SQL Server.
