Assam State Unit

1. Projects
1. Implementation started for the File Movement module for the Chief Minister's office. Dak Movement System running smoothly.
2. System Development continuing for the Commercial Taxes Sector.
3. System Development continuing for MIS-DIC.
4. Software for detecting forged Pension Bills implemented in the Directorate of Treasury & Accounts.
5. Remotely updated district web sites.
6. Initiated discussion with NERAMAC (a Govt. of India Undertaking) for development of a corporate MIS.
7. Digitization going on of village maps for Kamrup District
.
8. System Administration:
• SCPC VSAT connected with the Sate Unit LAN with provisions of two proxy servers.
2. Training
• Visual Basic6 for NIC personnel during Oct 15-19, 2001. (11 participants)
3. Other Activities
1. SIO participated in the SIOs' meeting during Oct 11-12,2001. Shri H. K. Saikia. PSA made a presentation on Treasury Computerization in the SIOs' meeting.
2. Ensured participation of a number of senior medical professionals from Guwahati in a meeting through VC on 19-10-2001.

• Computerized National Family Benefit Scheme is under implementation for DC Office.
• Computerized MPLAD System is under operation for DC Office.
• Linux has been installed and connected to the LAN with NT Server.

4. Darrang
• Bakijai Case Monitoring is under development stage in VB and MS-Access.
• Teachers' database software is under implementation stage.
• Land Record's data-entry is in progress.
• Provided active assistance for installing one new system in Confidential Branch of Deputy Commissioner and training imparted to the personnel of Confidential Branch of Deputy Commissioner.

9. Golaghat
• Developed an MIS for National Programme for Nutritional Support to Primary Education has been undertaken at this Centre using Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic and Crystal Report.
• Formats designed for data collection for the Gun Licensing Information System.
• Training conducted on MS-Office & Internet of 2 ADCs and 2 Staff of D.C. Office.
• Data Collection in progress for the Prominent Citizen's Database.
10. Hailakandi
• Report not received.
11. Jorhat
• Modified the Application Processing System s/w, which is under implementation.
• As preparation for the forthcoming Panchayat Election, database has been created on Gram Panchayat wise list of polling stations with name and No, location, no of voters, area covered etc.
• In consultation with the Deputy Commissioner, sites for CIC project in the remaining blocks of Jorhat district has been finalised.
• Installed Teachers' Database s/w and preliminary works for data entry has been started.
12. Kamrup
• Data entry on SRS (SSI Registration System) has been almost completed.
• Compilation of Prominent Citizen's List for Kamrup District going on.
• Regular data entry and report generation under MPLAD scheme.
• Compilation of information for updation of the district website.
• Training on Windows-based application software imparted to assistants of the District Administration.
13. Karbi Anglong
• Report not received.
14. Karimganj
• One-week training imparted to 3 officials and staffs of DIC, Karimganj on General computer operations as well as on SSI Registration and PMRY s/w.
• Pension and cash challan modules of Treasury Computerisation System (TAAS) updated to include new features.
• Prominent Citizen's list for the district compiled and despatched to NIC New Delhi.
• Work started for providing database connectivity to Karimganj web site.
15. Kokrajhar
• Report not received.
16. Lakhimpur
• FCI: Implementation started from 5th October '2001. A few persons have been trained up and data entry started.
• Freedom Fighters' Directory: The creation of a directory of 350+ freedom fighters' of the district is going on. This HTML based directory with facilitate each freedom fighter with separate page and it is expected to put the entire directory in CD (Compact Disk) form and also to put in the district official website.
• Vision for development of the district: Support provided for preparation of this document on vision for the development of the district in next 5 years.
• Creation of web page of Anglers' Meet 2001: The web page on the Anglers' Meet 2001 at the River Subansiri on 10th & 11th November has been prepared and launched in the internet for wider publicity and participation.
• Resource material preparation on Organic Farming: A comprehensive resource material is under preparation from various resources in the INETRNET with assistance from the World Community Education Development Society, an Canadian NGO group to support the local farmers on organic farming. This is being carried out due to the huge export marketing potential of Dhenki rice (rice extracted through Dhenki - an indigenous husking implement) and organic tea which are grown organically without using hazardous chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Significantly, District Administration, Lakhimpur has given top priority on organic cultivation.
• Information Facilitation and Grievance Cell: Functioning smoothly.
• Computerization of Treasury: Functioning smoothly.
17. Morigaon
• Report not received.
18. Nagaon
• Raijor Podulit Raijor Sarkar (Government at Peoples' Doorstep Scheme):Support for formulation of Action Plan, preparation of PowerPoint slides for this Public service oriented Scheme of District Administration taken care of. MIS under development for this massive programe.
• Land Record Computerization: Data entry continued for Jamabandi registers. 463 villages entered.
• FCI : Training on UNIX & FoxBASE+ continued to two staffs from FCI, Nagaon Distt. Manager's Office continued.
Distt Industries Centre and Commerce (DICC): Small scale Industries Registration System (SRS) database utilised. Query reports generated for use of CBI (for some investigation on rice mills). Guidance provided to DICC staff on MS Word and MS Access.
• District Judiciary: Technical support provided to District Court Computer centre for preparation of causelist, salary etc.
• CIC: CICs of Pachim Kaliabor (Missa) and Barhampur (Puranigudam) inspected and status reported to SIO.
• Treasury: Support on operating TAAS s/w provided to Treasury, Nagaon, for preparing monthly accounts. Salary for the month of September prepared.
19. Nalbari
• Payroll System of Deputy Commissioner office running.
• Food & Civil Supply project for allotment of rice, wheat, sugar & k-oil running.
• District Court Information System (DCIS) under implementation.
• Teacher Database Software under implementation.
• MP/MLA Local Area Development scheme monitoring for Planning & Development.
20. N.C. Hills
• Re-installation of LAN & Laser Printer in the Election Office
• Installation of 24-pin Dot Matrix Printer for sharing over LAN in the NIC office.
• Installation of Inkjet Printer at DIC, N.C.Hills.
• Porting of SSI Registration Data from MS Access to Dbase III+ for transmission to Director of Industries and Commerce.
• Meeting with ADC regarding finalization of sites in the four remaining blocks for CIC.
• Data for the monthly reports on ICDS Project, Family Welfare department (CNAA) & Daily Report on Wholesale & Retail price of rice were entered and sent to concerned authorities via e-mail.
• Windows 98, MS Office 2000, PageMaker 6.5, Ramdhanu software were installed in the computer of the Wholesale Consumers Co-operative Society, Haflong.
• Data related to Monthly Reports of SDO, Maibang were entered and sent to concerned authorities via e-mail
21. Sibsagar
• Data Entry and error free updation and transmission to the State Unit completed of the SSI Registration database.
• DCIS software is running in the Dist. Court smoothly.
• Updation of the District Web site.
• Treasury Accounting System is running smoothly.
• Training organized on MS-OFFICE for officers/staff of DC's office.
• Database developed in MS-ACCESS on NGOs.
• Compilation of prominent Citizens' list for the district is completed.
• Groundwork started for forthcoming Panchayat Election.
• Projects like Monthly Allotment of PDS items, Bakijai (Loan Recovery) & Payroll for DC's establishment going on.

• Necessary steps taken for implementation of the District Court Information System (DCIS) and Teachers Database Software and computerization of FCI district manager office (DIAS/MOVIS s/w).
• Projects like Monthly Allotment of PDS items, Bakijai (Loan Recovery), MP/MLA Local Area Development scheme monitoring system, 9-MLD Water monitoring system & Payroll for DC's establishment going on.
