[Bidyut R. Gohain] The October 30, 2008 bomb blast near the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Kamrup Metro, which also houses the NIC Kamrup Metro District Centre damaged the centre and the DIO, Sh Bidyut Ranjan Gohain had a narrow escape with injuries that required two stiches on his head from a shattered ceiling that fell on him. About the scene Sh. Gohain said, "Our room is in 2nd floor and it is about 50 meters from the site of the blast. But the impact is so high that even all the partition glass were broken along with ceiling. The locked windows and doors are forced open by the force of the blast. It is very diffecult to belive the impact of a high intensity blast."

Avail new Identity Cards

Get a new computer generated Identity Card for the old one from the Section Officer, Administration, NIC Assam State Centre. The new card is available for all North East States covered by this office. The application form can be downloaded from Forms Centre.
